A 23-year-old woman sitting in the front passenger seat of a white Dodge sedan was pronounced dead on scene after the driver lost control of the car as he drove southbound on Hylan Boulevard near Rose Avenue and crashed into a utility pole in Staten Island on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023. A grand jury has indicted the driver, Adem Nikeziq, 30, on a host of charges, including depraved indifference murder and aggravated vehicular homicide, in the January crash, which killed his pregnant fiancée, Adriana Sylmetaj, and ripped the couple's unborn child from her womb.
